Hey all. This is a question about cloning.

so, I have a gal I cloned. Two of those clones are growing nicely in veg. I decided to practice some plant training, and have one of these clones become the new mother to take cuttings from and the other put into flowering growth.

The first clone has had some low stress training and is coming along fine, while the other, well, she’s had some abuse. Some may say beat to shit. lots of supercropping and back alley chiropractic adjustments. I even (accidentally) split her main stem down the center. (see my previous post about training hard) . Shes tough, and hasn’t shown any decline in health.

Now, I would guess that the easier trained clone would most likely respond just as positively as the hard trained clone has if treated the same. But, would the hard trained clone offer stronger plants after cloning, rather than from the low stressed clone

Or would any of the training matter. as it would only be the genetics that get passed on.

    hmmmm

That’s 100% strain dependent and how each cultivar reacts. Your only option is to try both and figure it out for your set up and training methods. Honestly, I don’t think it would make much of a difference and if it did, we are talking only a very small percentage at best.

I would be negligent if I didn’t say that the stress COULD also cause some issues, like showing intersex traits aka hermaphrodite tendencies, though not very likely from just training. Again, it’s really up to the tergidity of the specific cultivar you’re growing. I have had plants that would herm if you looked at them funny before. So anything is possible with cannabis. Good luck bro. ✌️
