I’ve got three Autos that I ButtChugged. I cut and hung them and noticed they felt pretty wet. I purposely had my humidity at 50% and my temp was 63-67degrees for the last 6 days. Today, they actually feel the same as the day I put them in there. Obviously, my biggest fear is mold. Should I just keep it the same VPD and hope it’s a slow dry?

At 60-65° and 60% humidty my plants are also still wet at 6 days. Its usually around day 7ish when i start to smell chlorophyll (hay like smell) coming from the plant. I wouldnt worry about mold if your in those parameters. When was your last watering before chop? I try to not water 3 to 5 before chop. Do you have any fans in your dry area? Not pointing at the plant of course but blowing air around so its not stagnant.

yeah I would say at day 6 it should still have a good amount of moisture left in the plant if you whole plant dry but if you are worried about it, I would run a small fan on low at the bottom of the drying space. Just make sure not to blow it on the buds you can point it at the wall you just want it to gently move the air around the room. Did you remove the fan leaves or leave them on?

I would wet trim her down naked, on the plant hang her again with a fan running below the plant for circulation of air. with the fan running try to get your humidity to 60 and temp as close as you can. let her go 10-15 more days. then check her. my2cents.

Give it more time. Can take 3 weeks. DONT rush it. It fucks up the chemicals you’ve worked so hard on over the past months. DO NOT FORGET TO CURE

Thanks for the reply guys!! Yes, I do have a fan below them, no fan leaves left, the one purple punch us still wet but the others seem to be drying.(day8). So the buttchug is what threw off my chop. When I take away the water, the coco is still wet. Not sure how far out to stop the chug?

There is no problem here. I dry for up to 14 days. Remember the moisture is wicking out. I leave my fan leaves intact. It slows the process. Slow is good as long as you are within parameters. Keep the vpd below 1. If you can keep it around 0.8 it should be perfect. If you’re using a fan keep it low and not directed at the plant. It will dry the outside too fast and kill the enzymes that are cleaning your plant by converting sugars into fuel and breaking down less desirable compounds. If you’re using a tent i keep the exhaust fan at a minimum of setting one. It won’t move much air but it will keep it fresh. It still needs to ramp up to remove excess moisture. Try and keep it below 62% RH and as cold as 60f, or just as cold as possible. Too much work and time went into it . The dry and cure is the most important thing at this point. Keep feeling those smaller buds and branches for some beginnings of becoming more brittle. Its shouldn’t snap like a dry twig but just before that. Timing has to do with environment but also the structure of the plant. Some will be too dry at 14 days. I check every day.
