Asking for a friend they using grow dots in happy frog with purified water. Soil grow. I think they have been running things too dry so I think the grow dots haven’t been able to release enough. But looks like calcium to me. Any thoughts? I told them to water sooner and maybe consider a tiny bit of cal mag.

The plant I believe is in week 2 of stretch currently.

The issue has nothing to do with calcium or magnesium. Hurt or stressed roots will cause leaves to look like that before getting worse. Once the damaged root hairs regrow the plant will recover. Supplementing ca-mag will not fix anything and probably cause antagonisms.

So you think it’s under watering then? I have no way of seeing the plant myself so just going off what they told me. I don’t believe the plant has even been going to the point of wilting or that it has been moved etc. From what they say though it sounded like they been letting it dry back too far.

It looks under watered. Over watering can cause root rot which will make leaves go necrotic quick. Under watering shows similar symptoms shown in the pic. Deformed leaves that look like they’re starting to lack potash and nitrogen. A lack of potash will cause issues around the leaf edge/tip and the yellowing from a lack of nitrogen. N and K are needed by the plant in high ratios which tend to show first with lockout from damaged roots hairs.
