    Hi people,

If I mix all my nutrients in and the EC spikes to a silly high level!! How do you bring it down? Is the only way to add more RO water? but won’t that decrease the potency of my nutrients? if its too low then cal-mag but if it’s too high?

    Cheers gromies

You need to understand the target EC you’re going for and mix your nutrients to reach that target. If you’re way under or over then you mixed them incorrectly for the particular stage of growth your plants are in. Mix your base nutrients to the appropriate concentration based on any supplements that you’re also using. Don’t use supplements that you don’t understand. Some are only used at very particular times. The essential elements don’t change, it’s their ratio to each other and concentration that changes depending on the plant’s stage of development. If your concentration (EC) is too high, use less next time and dilute it with water to lower EC. Supplementing calcium or magnesium on top of base nutrition is never a good idea unless the plant is showing an active deficiency.
