Edible Infusion!!!
Posted by CaptenKush on October 13, 2025 at 6:16 pmSo i know this is not exactly a grow question but I’m looking to use some of my trim/failed harvests/Keef in to edibles, But I’m thinking of using lard for some of it for cookies. My question is would it be the same infusion prosses as butter or is it different?

I don’t know if it matters but lard has a higher melting temperature.
-
All the same way. Just the fat content in different oils butters etc it binds different.

Thats the only difference, all in the triglycerides. Lard is about 20%. I believe the coconut and olive oils have the most. In my experience i have never noticed a difference between them other than use, oil or butter.

I don’t think that matters as long as it doesn’t get over a certain temp

i have a kit. i normally make Oil. but i have made butter too
-
I’m just doing it the old fashion way. LOL Im to poor to get a infuser.
-

I infuse beef tallow using the same process as my butter infusion technique. Work’s great.
Vacuum seal both flower in a bag then sous vide at 185°f for 4 hours. Strain through cheese cloth into a mason jar, mix really good and stick it in a ice bath to chill. Be sure to mix occasionally to be sure it’s fully mixed up and doesn’t separate. Do that until it’s thick enough not to separate. There’s always a separation with butter but I haven’t had that issue with tallow. I typically do 1/2oz flower for 2 sticks of butter.

Sous vide is when you vacuum seal your food generally but I use it for infusion because it traps all the terpene in. Then fill a pan or something with water and use an emersion cooker to Cook said foods.https://youtu.be/gQH1moaxnJM?si=9Qk4tnjl7nMOVkqh

Sorry that’s the wrong video. 😂 I do have a smoker and am building a 500gallon propane tank smoker. But I meant to share a sous vide instructional video.

I’ve always wondered what the max amount of thc I can get into a cup of coconut oil. Could I just keep adding new weed to the oil after straining and repeat the process? Or is it maxed out and not going to take up any more thc?
I just do coconut oil in the oven at 220 for about an hour and a half stirring occasionally. Keeps a consistent temp. The longer I cook it the stronger it is.

For dessert and candy i always use coconut oil. For candy i like pineapple flavoring it goes well with the coconut flavor(taste like pina colada). I prefer using hash or rosin if possible to infuse it it taste better. For light dosage i like to melt starburst with the infusion and for stronger candy i use gummies mix. Bubble hash and cannabis need to be decarb but with rosin press it is already decarb and ready to go since you heat pressed it. For about 400ml of oil i put about 25g of bubble hash or about 15g of rosin press. With bubble hash when i made the bubble hash i pass it through a sieve and i let it dry in dust/crumble form. I do not like using trim and/or buds because it make a less clean product, leave a kinda chlorophyll like taste and you can’t make your oil as strong as with hash and rosin require too much quantity.
