I just set up my realbuckets 2.0 and the float valve only tickles out.

I don’t see this as an issue since it should only flow when the water level inside drops but I was wanting to make sure that i dont need to adjust the flow somehow.I just set up my realbuckets 2.0 and the float valve only tickles out.

No adjustment. It’s working as intended.

I have all of the buckets set up and the reservoir is full. I can see the water flowing into each of the pots but the coco at the top of the pot is still bone dry, even after 4 hours.

I’m using mother earth coco/perlite mix and i filled the net pot at the bottom and filled the pot and dropped that into the bucket. if I pull the inner bucket out It feels like the coco in the net pot is wet but it does not appear to be wicking up to the top of the pot. Is this normal or should i top water it in order to get the top wet as well. just curious because my new seeds wont do well in dry coco.

You’ll want to hand water seedling for the first few weeks until they’re established a bit. Water the media thoroughly initially so there are no dry spots, ever. The whole point of bottom feeding is to keep the surface dry so no pests can lay eggs. If the top inch or two of the media stays wet in a SIP system, then there’s a problem with over-saturation.

you may have to top water a little to get the roots to reach the bottom. i see most ppl transplant from solo cup into real buckets. then hand water fist week or two before starting to bottom water. this helps the roots fill the bucket before they find endless water. remember to water the plant size not the pot size. good growing

I transplant from solo cups and top feed for the first 2 weeks before turning the res on. Seems to work good.
