Humidity and tricome production

I’ve been running my flower at 40 to 45% relative humidity. I’m wondering if running at a higher humidity like 50 to 55 would produce more robust tricomes. There is a lot on there, but they don’t seem to be as sticky or vigorous as I was anticipating. Last year, I ran a grow outside and while I had more issues with powdery, mildew and bug rot, the plants were very sticky and resinous. Thoughts?

Humidity does have an affect on trichome production. Plants grown in high humidity (over 60%) during peak flower will not typically produce as many trichomes as plants grown in lower humidity levels (50-40%). Don’t raise the RH late flower.

      I didn’t know that. Thanks.

Full sun trichomes are exposed to a fuller spectrum than indoor trichomes. The biggest draw back to outdoor growing is what the environment does to the plant and the biggest draw back to growing indoors is the lack of spectrum. Neither is perfect. UVB does have an affect on trichomes. A climate controlled space with full sun would be the perfect setup.

Awesome. Thanks. That’s what I’ve been noticing.
