New to Grow Dots

I just finished my third grow and decided to change things up a bit for this run.

I have been using a mix of Fox Farm Happy Frog and Ocean Forest, but this time I have decided to pick up a set of real buckets and try growing in coco with grow dots.

I have my white widow seeds waiting and just placed my order for the buckets.

My question is this: Do I need anything other than the grow dots and recharge?

As I understand it, all I need to do is mix the grow dots into the coco and top feed once a week with recharge.

All cannabis plants technically need from you nutritionally is the essential minerals from the Grow Dots. They make their own amino acids, enzymes, hormones, proteins, etc. from those minerals. Microbes in Recharge are very helpful in many ways but you can grow without them. Recharge is more than microbes as it also is full of other biostimulants. Recharge does not have biostimulants that can’t be used at certain times so it’s ok to use at any time. I recommend new growers stay away from most supplements until they really understand the why and when, as some are full of hormones that are only to be used at very specific times. Grow Dots and Recharge are the perfect combination to begin with. As you gain more experience you can add other supplements here and there.

No. Never supplement calcium unless the plant is actively showing a deficiency. I believe the original formula didn’t have enough.

Thank you for the reply. When I germinate my seeds, I typically plant them in their finishing container. Would it be helpful to add anything to help the roots start? Like a couple tablespoons of mycorrhizae or some worm castings?

Biologicals can be very beneficial to young tap roots while being established. Some nutrition in the soil is typically fine. A ton of soluble nutrition will burn delicate roots.

I’m running a pair of plants now, one using Grow Dots (first time) and the other using Gaia Green All Purpose and Bloom Booster (I’ve used many times before) so, that should give me a good baseline for performance. Same strain for both. Same growing medium, containers, side by side. Tracking all the data ie, water, Recharge, lights, etc. I’m looking forward to the results and moreover, if there is a noticeable difference

    Good luck with your grow!

Haha, I did that same experiment a year and a half back. Now I run two separate grows one with grow dots and one with gaia green. They are both just great simple grows.

I started using Grow Dot and Recharge in Coco about a year ago. I used to be a Fox Farms Ocean Forrest and 3 bottle grower. After switching to Got Dots I have no desire to charge back, I have tried a couple of different Coco’s, I do like Fox Farms buffered coco with perlite.
