New grower about to harvest this super thick. The buds are so compact and dense will just hang drying it work or should I break it down and lay it out on racks? worried about mold and having good airflow for even drying.

I like to hang it in a tent with a dehumidifier for 60 % moisture, strive for 60 degree Fahrenheit and 60 % humidity but I worry about dehumidifier before actual temp as long as it’s not too warm. The dehumidifier moves enough air if you’ve defoliated prior to cutting and hanging. I wouldn’t put a lot of moving air in motion. It will dry your outside and still be wet inside the bud. You want to pull the moisture slowly by using a dehumidifier. I hope this helps.

Hang them beautiful buds and keep the leaves on as an indicator , keep the temp low and you’re good to go. If you have a room dehumidifier have it on the ready. Run it in your drying room if after a weekish or so the leaves are not drying out, BUT USE IT SPARINGLY. It will take time with nugs that size so be patient and diligently check them. They should seem overly dry when they are close. Like crunchy dry ONLY on the outside side. I would then take one bud and throw it in a gallon zip lock bag over night. This allows the remaining moisture to come out from the interior of the bud and disperse to the outside. If when you check that ziplock bud the day and you like what your seeing/feeling\smoking. Then the rest are good to roll haus. I hope this helps and keep growing friend!
