Topping

    Hi People,

Could you all have a look at my picture and give some advice please. Where the plant has been topped you are supposed to let the two branches grow. After a week and the plant has bounced back strip below where you have topped leaving the two branches. In this picture the branches below are quite mature and are a lot more further along than the top node branches. Do I still chop them off or leave them and top further down? or just leave as is and train the branches?

    Thanks Guys and Girls

i do not top my plants but i would cut the 2 lower branches if this plant was mine. Concerning the 2 lil top branches it depend how much time left for vedging if only 1 week or less i would cut them off if you plan to vedge longer you might want to keep them but i definitely cut the 2 lower ones to bring all the plant growth energy at the good place

I typically wait till the 6th node is produced, then top at the 3rd or 4th, depending on which gives me the structure I want. Unless the lower branches are in the way or dragging in the dirt, I leave them to fuel the plant until it is ready for defol/lollipop.

Similar to @T-bone , I top above the 4th node, usually at week 4. Then at week 6, I remove the bottom 2 nodes. Planted seeds for germination tests of 6 new lines on August 7th. Like your plant, I’ve got lots of stuff happening up top on these testers.

    Good Luck!

The new tops will catch up if they are in the center of the light. I would keep it growing outward with LST.
