Building my own soil
Here are the individual readings from my soil, peat moss, and compost with composted cow manure. Going to mix everything together later today and add my gravel for aeration. Will need to bring the ph down a point or 2. Will make a final decision once everything is mixed well.
My meter is a Yinmik 8 in 1 Bluetooth model. Amazon has them for around $50. Google has them around $100. Biggest issue for me is that you have to enable precise location while using the app. It does take about 30 seconds to connect.
Pic 1 is soil, Pic 2 is peat, Pic 3 is the manure. Mixed 2 bags garden soil, 1 bag peat, 1 bag manure, 1 bag topsoil-forgot to get a reading, 1 bag of river rock for aeration and drainage, and 1 bag of soil acidifier-6 pounds. 4th pic is after mixing and 5th pic is after 2 days plus rain.
Plan to transplant my clones into this on Sunday. Will PH water to 5.8-6.2. Will also be treating the roots to some myocorrizal plus adding some to the soil right before adding the plants. As I am using soil, I will be adding 2 inches of pea gravel to the tops of my grow bags to combat pests. Also plan to use the sticky bug things. I don’t remember what they are called.
