Anyone out there using the new real bucket system reservoir then getting algae smell and algae in the bucket thought the blue bucket would be dark enough to keep the algae from growing any tips or thoughts thanks

I use my own sip buckets and get algae all the time. I’ll just use my hand and wipe it away mostly when I change out the rez water. You don’t need to get it all, just “clean it up” a little. Hope this helps.

I don’t use SIP buckets but do use 5-gallon buckets with nutrient water bubbled by air stones. I custom cut a hole in a lid to hang plants potted in 1-gallon containers. Bottom of pot is about 1 inch above the liquid.

Painting the buckets and lids black helps prevent light reaching the nutrient rich water.

I agree light and also higher rez temps are the 2 biggest culprits.
