  • Clone in soil, but I grow in coco

Posted by thedanishdankman on April 3, 2025 at 11:19 am

So I just got my first clone, and it came planted in a solo cup filled soil. I grow in coco and already have seedlings/early early veg plants going in and would prefer not to grow both in coco and soil in the same tent.

So does anyone have any suggestions for what to do with the clone?

    Thanks in advance!

The clone in soil can be transplanted in coco with no issues.

Okay would you just repot it into a larger pot with coco? Or would you try and get as much soil off as possible before?

Zero concern about the soil. It will transplant into coco fine.

Okay awesome, I’ll transplant to coco ASAP as it’s done with it’s week of isolation in another room and being treated.

If the clone is showing new growth for sure it will be fine. I’m intreaged by soil to coco though shouldn’t that be reversed?

Coco can be mixed in soil and soil can be mixed in coco. It’s not an issue either way.

I ran out of potting soil and only needed a little more so I mixed in some coco that I had. Probably like ~3 gallons of potting soil and 1-2 gallons of coco. This is that plant that’s in it, Sunday it be starting week 6. So coco and soil mixing is no problem.

I grow in coco too and in the container I actually dug out the center of the coco and put potting soil in it’s place and started my seed in there. I struggle with watering especially early on, so I wanted to see if putting some potting soil in the center would help me and it worked great. So you should be able to transplant to coco no problem👍
