biffdaddyParticipantJuly 14, 2025 at 6:52 pmSo things were looking pretty good I thought but we’ve had a lot of rain and high humidity the last week or so. Noticed some powdery mildew on some fan leaves on one plant. And a small area in main cola on that plant. I’ve clipped the fan leaves and that section of cola out.
on another plant I noticed the tips of calyxes on one bud a slightly different brown shade and opened up a bud and found what looked like a web and a silk worm.
I tossed it before taking pic but here’s a video where you can see some remnant of Web on the stem.
2/4 plants are prob close to harvest. Day 74 mephisto autos flowers. I’ve been looking at trichomes daily and just now seeing a few Amber ones.
should I just harvest now or try to mitigate the mildew and hold off?

Caterpillars can definitely be ground zero for rot. Just cut away the affected area with clean snips dunked in h2o2. The bud in the pic doesn’t look rotten to me, could just be a bit of purple coming out.
As for the PM I’ve never dealt with it, but a spray of high pH water can keep it at bay. Not so sure that’s a good idea in flower though. How close are you to harvest?

Id suggest sacrificing a bud and cracking one open. Bud rot usually starts from inside the bud. Outside might look just fine. If the bud breaks apart easily that could be tell tail sign. As for the white, im not a PM experet but it looks a little stringy. Could be some kind of webbing or silk coming from some sort of bug or caterpillar. Which mentioned above could be a sign of trouble on its own. Caterpillar shit causes bud rot as they attack the inside of the bud, and it gets left behind to throw havoc inside your buds.
