Trying to put all helpful information related to using Real Buckets 2.0 all in one place. types of water and PH being used, 100% Cana Coco coir or other types of soil, Grow dots and recharge being used, using the watering Reservoir, Do’s and don’t ect. and any ideas/hacks to make them better.

Theses are my plans/ideas before starting my first grow using the Real Buckets 2.0. I’m a Veteran and a two time cancer survivor living with some disabilities issues, So I’m trying to make this system super easy to compensate for my situation.

    – 100% Cana Coco coir with Grow dots and Recharge.

-Planning on modifying the water hose to allow me to keep the watering reservoir out side of my 5×5 tent and modifying hoses for my 4 grow buckets inside. (I need space for my balance)

    – I know that the watering reservoir should be on the same ground level as the grow buckets.

    – Also thinking about adding a float valve to the lid of watering reservoir to add a RO line directly to the watering reservoir keeping full at all times.

Everything looks simple to do, so I hope others can use these ideas to make growing a little easier. Peace

This system is very user friendly. I set my rez up with a float valve for continuous fill, and the is system virtually hands off. Another benefit of grow dots is not worrying about feeding schedules. This allows more time with the plants scouting, pruning, and shaping.

I’m with you on that. I have everything I need except for the ball valve left over from running my RO to my fridge.

This is a couple of pictures of my simple continuous fill system for my Real Buck Reservoir. $6 total. May need to add a small weight to place on the lid to ensure the hydraulic pressure cant push it open before the float valve closes. I haven’t started to use it yet, I still have a full tent in flower. I already have RO water plumed to the lung room so this is 98% done project. Hope this helps someone, Peace

<div>1/4″ OD Quick Connect Push in to Connect Water Tube Fitting 10pcs+1/4 inch RO Water White Tubing, 10M(32FT)</div>

1/2 Inch NPT Mini Float Ball Valve Kit Automatic Fill Feed Humidifier Tank Pond Shut off Water Float Ball Valve, 2 Pack

If you have an RO system, you will need to tap into that to use it to maintain the reservoir water level, The girls drink a lot of water.

Feel free to ask me any questions you may have regarding the auto water level system using RO water system.

I’m using all of that exclusively. Why wouldn’t you use the reservoir? I want a larger one I can aerate is my only observation so far. I have six buckets.

So, on your setup, you installed the float ball valve right?

So what you need is another one to put in the top of your Reservoir bucket. Then another reservoir bucket on top another bucket or platform. To help with gravity feed. A grommet sized to your hose which is sized for your float valve. And a straight barred connector sized for your hose.

If you need picks or plans, let me know.

Live is better, but anything at all is better than nothing. 👍

glad to see others posting about the buckets. I finally got my setup tweaked, I’ve been wanting to also get a longer hose. being in a small 2×2 right now, I NEEDED the rest outside for space. so I had the one end looped up to not leak. I wasn’t able to get one of the corner fittings out of the line and swap out the T fitting. once I finish my first run and get a 4×2 I’ll be using both buckets anyways. Just one of those minor details. wish it was delivered with the fittings out so I could assembled just a 1 bucket and res system.

Quick update on the Real bucket, I had a plugged float valve orifice. My plants leafs looked weak and dropping so I checked the water level in the reservoir (Top Bucket) I had the RO supply line turned off for a couple of days and noticed the water level had not lowered. I used my wet vac and emptied the reservoir and pulled it out of the blue bucket and brought over to my deep sink to put water in to check the float valve, sure enough it had a tiny little piece of particle stuck in the inside the float valve orifice that was blocking the release of water to the Grow Buckets. I pulled the pin out of the valve and cleaned out the orifice (very tiny hole where the water comes through). I cleaned up the bucket just in case and it’s working properly now.

Any luck identifying what the particle was from?

Good to check in between runs, thanks for the share!

I wish I had taken a picture. It looked like it was organic like a very small part of the plant may have fell in the the bucket while the lid was open. It was very small, if I hadn’t taken the pin out to investigate I would not have seen it. I will forever clean the top of the lid before opening it.
