What’s my leaf telling me?

I use General hydro grow, micro, and bloom. I’ll also use general hydro Calimagic(calmag) and the general hydro Armor Si. Still in grow. Size wise they’re ready to flip but health wise I’d like to cure this first. I also use the great recharge once a week. The girls are in pro mix hp. Thanks for any kind of tips.

EC and pH of feed water? Are you sure you need the CaMg? Bottled nutes should be balanced just fine.

It’s around 900ppm and ph 6.1. And not sure if I need the calmag really. I started using it about two weeks ago because it looked like magnesium deficiency and I didn’t have any epsom salt. Magnesium deficiency went away for the most part.

Introducing the cal-mag is likely the cause and maybe more so if you didn’t adjust the dosages of anything else you’re feeding. The nutes you’re using are probably sufficient in calcium and adding more pushed it over the limit.

I wouldn’t be surprised if supplementing with cal-mag started becoming less common. If they’re not just trying to sell you as many bottles as possible than a lot of the 2 and 3 part nutrients now will have enough calcium and magnesium that it isn’t necessary, if you use the correct amounts, to add more.

Less CalMag should be the new meme.

I can’t tell from the picture, but I have observed, more than once, that a leaf just below a forced bend during training will sacrifice itself to promote healing and growth above the bend.

Good luck in your problem determination!

An abundance of calcium can lockout potassium. Looks like it may be starving for potassium especially if you are in the first few weeks of flower

This is an issue with potash being locked out or less available. Could be from calcium antagonism so stop using cal-mag. Most common reason is under-watering causing physical damage. pH and EC are fine so all that’s left is physical root damage. Nitrogen and potassium are needed by the plant in the highest ratios and when there is a root issue, they are the first to show deficiencies. Under-watered roots often show potash first.

The necessity of using cal-mag all depends on your water source. Some of us who have city water only have to let it sit overnight. Some like me have wells and have no choice but to add cal-msg as we reverse osmosis or water.

When friends and relatives tell me they’re going to try growing I always emphasize things like water, electrical and plumbing and lung room environment before even discussing the actual growing process.
