Fungi 2 months agoWho uses a casing layer? Who doesnt? And why? I would put a casing layer in my shoebox tek, but find I would sometimes get contamination regardless. Im trying two shoeboxes without one right now, so far so good.

I use a light pseudo casing layer after my substrate has colonized with mycelium and it helps with the pinning in my experience!

I love toothpick mushrooms. 🤣🤣 I don’t know what it is but every single time I grow treasure Coast they always grow in like toothpicks I can’t get them to grow any bigger than that. Other varieties I could get them as big as my arm but for some reason the treasure Coast always comes out as toothpicks.
