I’m on my first shroom kit and I’m following the instructions but there is one thing they don’t explain in a beginner friendly way: when to harvest. It says: ‘It is very important that you harvest your mushrooms before the veils under the caps of the mushrooms tear.’ But how can I tell that they are about to tear? Are there any signs to look out for? Is it a time thing (e.g. so many days after the first show up)? I guess it’s ‘strain dependant’ …time to admit I have 4 kits: 2 ‘Golden Teacher’, 1 ‘McKennaii’ and a ‘B+’ (and those names mean nothing to me, first time I have my hands on shrooms and I know what they are/supposed to be) I got 2 for free in different sales/promotional stuff-things-whatever, I guess it’s when they get rid of older kits, the other two were half price so I can say I got 4 kits and payed for 1
). This question popped up today coz when I opened my tent I was greeted by quite a shroomy smell. The McKennaii is first to show some fruit and it literally happened over night

Your best ones will go first, easiest way to explain it is when the foreskin pulls back on the big ones, start watching all of them. They can full expose it’s fine, just not for long, if they drop spores the flush will stop.

Once the veil tears. You can see it pull from edge of cap and fall attached to stem. It wont take long after that for spores to drop and make a mess. Still fine to harvest then, just wear gloves. If im using multispore i harvest as needed. Cloned out and when tubs are pretty even fruiting, i wait for a canopy.

I had that happened when I was growing old dirty penis envy. Overnight I had 4 of them go from the size of a fingernail to almost as big as my hands.

Looking great. Also you can get 3 or more runs out of each cake. I got the biggest fruits on the first flush but more weight on the second.
