Wanted to share the status of the grow. The area in the garden for the girls is 8×16. 6 plants and they officially hit 6′ tall. The top of the chain link is about 6’4″ above the weed barrier. I am astonished at the growth. I wasn’t expecting this. Basically there is a solid 8×13 canopy. Since they were poking out anyway I’m going to try and use the chain link like a vertical scrog…lol. in the ground on 6-1 so this is 6 weeks of growth. I can’t seem to get the pics in order on this but there is the same view on 6-1, 6-14, 6-28 and 7-12.

The one question I have……DO I just let them run of get under there and defoliate? If I trim them, how much should I go at it? In western NY I assume I’d be starting to flower in 3-4 weeks?

The tomato plants are giving them a run for their money.

  • Incredible work and harvest! Such a joy to share come Christmastime…Thanks for posting!

  • Well, the final tally is in.

    White Widow (1 plant) 1.4#

    Maracuya (1 plant) 3.2#

Super Lemon Haze (1 plant) 2.1#

Bruce Banner (2 plants) 3.7# These plants had three of their side up against other plants so they would have produced better

    Wedding Cake (2 plants) 6.6#

Comes out to an even 17# total for bud. Full transparency, I did not do a final final trim to remove all the sugar leaves. It’s all trimmed tight to the bud but I did a quick trim to level with the bud surface. I’ll dig in and trim all the sugar leaves that are exposed when I more from the Grove Bags and put in the Ball jars for consumption. So even if with that I am very please with the outcome.

I took all the sugar leaves that I trimmed off and all the smaller buds and place in freezer bags. I didn’t have a huge amount of these smaller buds because I really defoliated all the interiors right to the stems. In the pic you see the freezer bags. Those hold the small buds and the sugar trim. The total 3.4# that will be used for butter, tincture and oils.

Thanks for all the help DGC for answering all my questions and especially for @scottyreal for the grow dots and recharge. If you are growing outisde I strongly suggest looking into the Dots/recharge and pairing them with the Blumat auto watering rings. I had to supplemental feed the large in ground plants because I only used the Growdots at a 7 gallon application rate. They needed a little help getting them over the finish line.

Next weekend I will be running the buds through my T-Check to test the THC level. I know the THC isn’t the end all be all, but it’ll help me use it in recipes

  • I really enjoyed all of your posts and updates!! Keep growing. You’re doing an amazing job Sir!! 🫶🏻

    • Thanks Ohio. It was fun but I really didn’t understand how much it would yield. The breeder sheets really undersold the height and yield. Can’t wait to try it after the cure. The first two plant o took down will be 1 month cure next week. Can’t wait to try.

  • holly shit !!!!!!! beautiful , great turn out

  • I can only imagine the space and time it took to dry and trim all this. Amazing my friend . thats what it is all worth in the end

    • I had lots of lines up in the garage. The biggest main colas went in my tent with humidity and air circulation. They are all bagged up in Grove bags and they dropped In at between 57 and 65% humidity. Can’t wait the check the THC on my T check

  • that is an amazing looking harvest and I love seeing monster plants like that and the yields 👍👍

  • The Results are in. I use a Tcheck. I am still playing around with it to really understand what the numbers mean. I’ve run a half dozen checks of labeled Dispo and I seem to get reading that are constantly 3-5% lower than what the dispo weed is labeled. The T-check lists this as “Total Cannabinoids”. It asks if you are running a THC or CBD/N strain prior to running the test. I can also run the infusions and tinctures after they are made but wanted a number before starting so I can roughly anticipate the mg/serving.

  • Enjoyed following your grow. I can’t grow outside other than an auto between my tomatoes. Thanks for sharing it.
