Can we finally start harvesting earlier?!

Controversial post #1. Haha. So now that we are finally discovering that the best way to preserve terpenes for hash is to take our plants a bit earlier should we then assume maybe its a better way to prepare our flower as well? I’ve actually been chopping my weed a bit earlier for years. Plants reach peak potency a lot earlier than most assume , and in my case anyway my plants smell strongest long before the conventional wisdom of “later” dictates. Lets call it like it is. Amber trichomes are simply enzymatic degradation that doesn’t really accomplish anything. Now that we arent trying to squeeze every gram out of a harvests lets start harvesting at the right time. A little earlier.

PS. I like to take my plants mostly milky. I could care less about amber.

Interested to hear what others think? 😆

It’s worth noting here that amber Trichomes are less THC and more CBD, CBN. While it might not be what you are after, they certainly have value.

I would say it’s completely subjective to the combination of cannabinoids you are aiming for.

Amber trichomes are not CBDa. CBDa and THCa come from mature trichomes. Degraded THCa converts to CBNa. The C in THCa is cannabinol (CBNa).

Early trichomes are clear (CBGa), mature trichomes are milky white (THCa/CBDa) and degraded trichomes are amber (CBNa).

I like it, I’m going to be thinking about this next harvest time. Was never totally sure about the ambers, my last one went crazy foxtail by the time I had a noticeable population of amber trichs.

Also, I like to pluck the larf and vape it raw, so call me a believer
