So, I finally got around to changing the charcoal out of my old can filters. This thing was bought in late 90’s. Damn thing has charcoal pellets in it. In worked good. And them pellets are way cheaper then the ground stuff the hydro store sells.

Don’t know never used them. I think as long as they have a comparable serface area, and are as pourous they should work. Let the comunity know how long and how well it lasts. I am running an AC Infinity 6″ refillable can filter myself. I wondered how long it would be before I had to change the charcoal that was provided with the filter.

I used these old can filters for years. 1 small 4 incher diy with ground charcoal. The one I just changed had pellets and I ran it for years no trouble. Now In 2 bd apt with Mrs that can’t handle the smell anymore.

      I believe it’s psychosomaticst lol

I changed it out cuz I can’t take the chance of pissing her off. Going th refill with the granitor charcoal I have on hand. But yeah, I’ve got this 5 footer 150lb can I use for a air scrubber for lung room. Going to fill it with the cheaper pellets and I’ll keep it updated on smell removal and length of time.

Can’t wait to cracked that 5 footer. If she’s filled with pellets. I’m sold cuz I’ve had an run this can the most over the years and it’s still cleaning the smell.

      Happy growing bro

Just picked up a new ac infinity 6″ inline fan and charcoal filter. And I’ve got to say, damn 🤯

The craftsmanship and new tech you young ones get is nice. Kind of reminds me of old beer cans we opened with a can opener. Now days you get this light weight, strong as @#$k built filters and fans so quite and powerful. The old classics are solid heavy and will last forever but I can’t hang it from the top of my tent and sleep good knowing it’s not going to bring the tent down the next earthquake we get.
