Didn’t want to spend 500 plus for a water activity meter so I asked Chat GPT for a free / DIY alternative. It suggested to fill up a manson jar to 20 / 30 % with a hygrometer. Keep your dry stage going until this test shows 58 to 60%. Last weekend I was at 71%. Today is showing 60% (new buds, not the ones from the first test…) after 15 days of drying.

Is the lid on tight? I’m a little bit confused. How does the bud in the jar dry?

I like to weigh some branches wet and then I start trimming when they’re 20-25% their harvest weight. Meaning they’ve lost 75-80% weight in water.

I’ve been having a few moments lately. I think I need a holiday. And maybe a nice mushroom trip to reset my brain. Haven’t done that for a few years and they’re sprouting up in the wild around me now.

That makes sense to me. How long did you leave the buds in the jar to make sure the reading was accurate?
