So, I made an impulse purchase the other day without doing any research at all. I looked at reviews of the product but didn’t really look at the process. Anyways, I have a 4 bucket DWC setup arriving in a few days. I spent hours on YouTube last night trying to learn as much as possible. I feel like I have a pretty good grasp of things but I still have questions about a few things. Now that I’m writing this I can’t think of most of them. Lol. This is all new to me so let’s start with germination. I bought some small rock wool cubes to start with (never used these before) that will end up in clay pebbles. What’s your process with the cubes and keeping seedlings alive until they go in the net pots? My biggest worry here is drowning them…

My rooms were brutally long.I usually would change the reservoir when It got half empty, only because I was worried about salt build up. A bubbler for each bucket. Lots of bubbles.

  • I have always used rapid rooters for seed and clones. i put the in clay balls in my four bucket DWC [from PA hydroponics]and i put them in my real bucket system with coco and perlite

  • Yeah I use only 1-2ml per 20 gallon fill. Which by my calculations is still allot. Some people choose to pre dilute but its worked well for me that way.

  • Dwc is not complicated at all!!! But are you in actual DWC? Or are you in a recirculating system? They both need to be ran differently. Most commercial facilities use drip systems which is basically a recirculating system from a big res. Actual DWC is by far the Fastest way to grow. Super easy to fix lock outs and deficiencies because you can just get new water!!! You know immediately if you overfeed. And you only need to check the res PH!!!

  • Awesome, thank you. @m1ghtym0u3e

@kapsndkolas It’s dwc, individual buckets with no res. They do have the drip ring up top that pulls water from the bottom so I guess technically it recirculates to a degree. Idk how much though, I’m still a few weeks away from setting everything up.

Funny, back in the day. My setup came with the Drip rings, but I couldn’t figure out how to work them. So basically I ran a kracky setup with a bubbler. All single units.

  • You will be fine. I start my seeds in water and scoot towels. When germinated i transfer in aero garden plug and let it build roots. When i get à good root system then i tranfer in buckets. Be sure not to over feed and ph 5.8.
