  Public Service Announcement (for Spider Farmer buyers)

  Caveat emptor.

  But SF have admitted to me that they don’t sell the SmartG12 grow sponges separately (and they are consumables in some cases where the roots have made separating the sponges impossible without cutting the sponge off before transplant). They basically told me to source my own from the internet, which is pretty much impossible in my situation.

  So, I’ve improvised… I’m now using 100% cotton heavy-flow tampons in the bottom of the cages, with a 3/4″ expandable soil plug on top (all of which I soak in water before I plant the paper towel method sprouted seedlings in them).

  Working great so far. Shame, though, that SF has left bit of a bad taste in my mouth with its unthinking and uninterest from Customer Services, for a situation they ultimately created themselves.
