Agreed with others on your growing media. That looks like a recipe for a bad rotten root. As for smells im unsure, this stage they are developing roots and leaves not terpenes. Very uncommon for any smells at this point. This community is all about help. I wish best of luck and when serious search out and learn, the best of knowledge and growers are here.
