Simplest way to get Co2 to my plants

When everything in your grow is dialed in and want to supplement CO2, it’s about consistency. You need a CO2 controller to make any difference. Without a way to control the levels, you’re wasting time and money. CO2 boosts are not helpful. Plants produce a certain number of stomata on a leaf depending on CO2 levels to be efficient. If CO2 levels are low, the plant will produce more stomata per leaf. If CO2 levels are high, they’ll produce fewer stomata per leaf. Fluctuating CO2 levels throughout the day without consistency confuses the plant.

Ok thanks. I’ve been studying up on it. Seams I need to get more time in growing before I use Co2 supplements

I second what jmystro said. It’s a game of diminishing returns, for me anyway. At the end of the day, how much does it cost to grow how much bud. Great genetics(good seeds), might have the least on input cost to output gain. Not saying gas doesn’t work. It does, but to what end. Just some food for thought. Happy growing.

I’ve been on this quest. Living in the state that I do – I didn’t want to buy a C02 system and have to transport refills. I tried boosters, bags, mushrooms, BREWING MEAD, yeast and sugar. I had no idea how much was being produced, or if any was actually getting to my plants.

Eventually, I bought a C02 meter and moved my grow to the windowless side of my basement where ambient C02 was higher.

    Nothing replaces a controller.

Yea I was basically wondering if a Co2 mushroom bag is a good idea

It won’t hurt anything. You can get some tasty mushrooms. But they aren’t going to produce 400ppm. I’ve never gotten anything significant from them.

Mushroom bags and the CO2 canisters that you shake don’t work!

That’s the thing about cO2. It’s basically like an octane booster for a higher performance engine. You won’t really find it useful unless your grow is dialed in and you have enough light to make use of it. And at that point.. there’s only one really easy and reliable way to get it in there and that’s with a tank and regulator and a monitor. I hated hearing it too and realized I would just need to bite the bullet at some point. Buy once cry once. If u want co2 get a tank.

I ran out of juice in winter. After a couple days and holding upper 600’s. I found intake was open to family environment. Installed 4 inline filters for pet dander and use us. Taco night might be a boost.

I run my tent at a positive pressure, pure engineering/bro logic.

Seems to do the trick, the extra volume and air pressure in my brain will increase the CO2 a tiny amount but when talking CO2 and from listening to Dr Bugbee etc it doesn’t require much increase to make a difference.

    I’m probably talking shite.

Just make sure you have a decent tent or you might get an odour you don’t want circulating in the house.

I just bought an XL Exhale CO2 bag this weekend. Hung it above my light in my flower room. I use a 9×10 bedroom for flower, no tent. We’ll see if I see much yield increase. I’m running a 720W Growers Choice and I’m getting ~1000 ppfd at my tallest most centered tops. That amount of light is clearly a waste of electricity without supplemental CO2. And I’ve seen Scotty’s diminishing returns for light without additional CO2 chart enough times to try something out. After talking with a local grow store employee and finding out CO2 in a tank was gonna run me $100+/mo I opted for a $10/mo solution and we’ll hope it’s more CO2 than me and the 2 dogs were providing the girls.

Ok, my question to this is that co2 in your grow at night is bad, right?

So do you take your shrooms out at night time?

I have oysters and tidal waves in another room and I’m thinking of putting them in my flower tent. I’m not sure about the overnight co2 though.

I just do some light stretches or some yoga in my lung room, since it’s sealed, the co2 stays elevated and it shows in the plants.

I do also have a whole Martha tent in my lung room…. Not much going on right now but i have like 8 grain spawn bags just waiting to be fully colonized. Pink and blue oysters, white button mushrooms, and I’m even growing some glow in the dark ones this time. Just for the pics

I walk around my lung room in yoga pants and the CO2 increases every time. I assume it’s my plants way of applause. Using an AC Infinity CO2 controller/monitor with no additional CO2 hooked up yet. Twerking gets my CO2 up to 1150PPM. Yoga pants never lie😀.

Im an old guy, so i take my naps and read in the lung room. In between I visit the girls for their daily checkup and admiration. It raises my co2 from 450 ppm ambient to 6-650 ppm and it will usually hold there for several hours. Not a perfect solution when I’m running nearly 1000 ppfd but it’s free!
