Stoned impulse buy leads to “hold my Rig” challenge

So, I’ve been wanting to go vertical in my veg spaces and spider farmer got me with an impulse buy with this:

6 Tier Plant Stand with Grow Lights 220W Plant Shelf with Tent for Indoor Plant and Greenhouse“.

Which I figured was an ok deal considering the discount, but it has some drawbacks like the clear doors 9where you lose almost half the reflectivity) and no real ventilation holes. I can’t get over how much easier it would be to cobble my own together with twice the space and wattage for roughly the same money. So, I thought why not just try both?

    So, I went with,

    A 2X4 tent

    10x 4′ 50w lights

A Heavey duty shelf of the exact dimensions of the tent poles.

Plus, some timers, zip ties and some rack fans

My thinking is obvious considering the above listed, and It’s not a new concept to me, I just figured the gamble of the rack fitting despite the measurement because (China) was too much of a headache to attempt till now.

If you’re interested in seeing how this works out when everything arrives, let me know I will post update with build and comparisons images and such.

Added images of items purchased for those are interested, though the amazon order doesn’t reference Black Friday discounts, but both set-ups are nearly the same price at the time of purchase. Odds and end not accounted for in the build totals.

      That and early veg.

That where the Idea to just put shelves in a 2×4 came into play.

I’ve seen these used for vertical grows before and they worked great! Biggest plants go on the bottom!

You know those Plastic shelves from home depot and/or lowes. With some extra pcv tubing, you can make that 300.00 shelves for under 100.00. Just cut tubes to the height you want them

Good point, you can return about anything to the big-box stores if it ends up not being sturdy enough.

I tend to go for metal where I can as even the small amount of Uv that a grow light put off will make quick work of plastic.

Okay the spider farmer “Vanity” tent/display that inspired this is basically never going to arrive due to spider farmers in ability to fill orders in a timely manner even though I was told my order was filled in the first run. I don’t really want it anyway, as its cheap quality and a bit cheesy, so that’s the last I will speak on that.

I have everything to build out the 2×4 tent, the plan is to add three lighted shelves, each with 150watt of led light 3x50w shop tubes. The Idea is to have the bottom space for mom sized plants, the middle for a 36-site cloner and some taller vegging clones. The top shelf will be for smaller rooted clones.

I have had setups like this before but had to let go of it and frankly a lot of gear, when moving halfway across the country.

It blows my mind that this type of setup isn’t a commercially available package, or that no one seems to have featured anything like it in their grow journals. This type of space management is the lynchpin of a home perpetual grow.

I have to go see a man about a mule, but I will bang this tent out later on and post some images for clarification.
