2 months agoAsk a Grow Question hey guys back again lol. A very interesting colour on a couple leaf’s I’ve never seen it turn this pale colour. Anyone know if this is natural or a deficiency of some sort? Anyone with info is greatly appreciated.

There are 3 pigments that are responsible for reflecting color spectrums we see in plants. Chlorophyll, carotenoids and flavonoids. Near the end of a plant’s life it’ll increase the production of a hormone called ethylene. Ethylene blocks chlorophyll (reflects green) production allowing other pigments (carotenoids and flavonoids) to show. A flavonoid called anthocyanin is responsible for colors like blue, purple and even black.

That’s a great fade! What genetics are they and how low have you been bringing the temperature down to?
