Such a fun memory surfing in Ireland for 2 weeks. Met a guy from the UK taking photos for the Quicksilver Masters and he ask if i smoked. Of course being in Europe i had to ask smoke what? He pulls out a dip can smashed into that brick style old school hashish, oil based, dark brown. You know the stuff 🤯. We left the bar and that was the first time smoking a freshy is what he called it. Hash and menthol tobacco. He sent me home with a gram. Tucked it in my surf leash key pocket. Made it to the USA. Then 9/11 happened 5days later. Thankfully my buddy missed his flight back from a contest Portugal because his flight was the first plane that crashed. This trip has memories that made me think, that could have been me still to this day 23years later.

@ClemmyGrows420 No. he had other flights and was headed to Newark,NJ for another contest. He left Ireland early to go to his contests, I don’t know his itinerary. Don’t look so far into it. He missed his flight so he’s still with us today. That was my point. I have a lot of pictures. A picture of the towers a week before they went down also. But that plane he was supposed to be on. I’ll have to ask him if he still has his itinerary. I would have kept it. We were in the newspaper out there for a high school surf team from California coming to Ireland to surf. I have those. I’ll post up the article. Super fun times but that’s some COLD water but the surf was amazing.
