Who knows their shit about HVAC and proper ventilation standards for designing or upgrading a grow room?! I already have AC piped in from the house. A portable in the room to supplement when the house is a bit warmer. All tents vent to outdoors as well. I want to “open the room” up and be able to vent the entire room through carbon to outdoors as well while running a flood table setup and as it starts to fire up I realized the stink is going to be more than powerful and it smells like a greenhouse next to my garage outdoors!🧐 Will strapping a 12″ carbon filter to an added inline that vents directly outdoors cause weird negative/positive pressure issues or cause backdraft into the tents from their outputs? Local HVAC guys don’t want to talk about it even with an appointment and promise of a consultant fee! I worry about snuffing my pilot lights or causing a moisture issue elsewhere too. I’ll pay, just need a pro that isn’t a dick and doesn’t have the stigma mindset… yeah, a professional. Thanks all!!

      • When you say ‘open the room up’ are you going to have your tents open? Sounds like the tents vent directly out of house now with no filter for smell? I assume you are not using CO2? Love to help! Need more info

@Dude so my idea is to use the open area I still have in the room to flower and filter the room area outdoors without stinking it up for the neighbors. I don’t have a problem currently as each tent has a 6 inch filter. I “pre-condition” the air in the room where it’s easier for each tent to adjust for the strain that’s inside as well. I can keep that room at 50 to 55% or and use it to flower on a flood table and make better use of the portable AC during the “fall” in the big area. I have CO2 in the 4×4 during flower and bags (meh) in the others. It’s generally around 800 because it’s all breathing the house, five people and pets. I brought out a couple in week 8 of flower and what’s usually a scent free yard smelled like a Van Halen show!🤣

        • You can do a diy mini split

          • Do you have a dehu in the room? I’d probably eliminate all exhaust going to outside. Put the 12″ inline fan, filter in the center of the room to scrub entire room.

            • @backyard-boogie Yeah. It’s a 100 pint that I have hooked to a drain and then there’s little units in each tent for a safety for dense stuff. I’m not having any issues currently other than if I open a couple of tents of flowers, it’s thick outside. The room is an old studio space and it’s dead quiet, caulked in and stays stable climate-wise. There’s a couple of hundred feet of panda film in a box on the porch too. I just thought that pulling 6x the volume of a bathroom exhaust fan out through a carbon filter to remove the dank, with an open vent straight from my home package unit could suck out my pilot or cause an issue with pressure elsewhere. Kinda like putting two inline fans together, you lose power in the end, or so I’m told.
