YO DGC! Found Powdery Mildew in the Bloom Room 2 weeks into flower. Small spots smaller than pencil eraser on maybe 3% of lower leaves. Got pissed! Then though hey good opportunity to test some products I have. So I removed any infected leaves, sterilized my scissors and did some pruning and leaf thinning to prep em for first spray. I highly recommend these sprayers

If you look at other sprayers try and find what the spray particle size is. The Fog Master is 15-40 microns, adjustable. It just coats the leaf surface so well. Makes your spray product go a long way over using a conventional sprayer. Not to mention the coverage is awesome with the built in fan. I will be spraying https://www.lostcoastplanttherapy.com/collections/shop-lost-coast-plant-therapy/products/9-oz-bottle (save 20% code DUDE) & https://opticfoliar.ca/products/atak-2/ Once a week alternating. I will continue until at least week 6. I remove the plants from the grow and they get sprayed one by one on table so the plant gets 100% coverage. I know some of you growers hate spraying on developed flowers. I have done it with ATAK before no issues with trichs or terps. I have not with Lost Coast, but have discussed it with other growers who use it well into bloom. Time to find out! Not an ideal time to get PM, but I will take the challenge! It’s fun to learn what works and share with the DGC!

In reference to the pic with Elium label. Thats what they call ATAK in Canada….don’t ask…lol Just be glad you don’t have french on the labels of everything down there!

Zerotol, wiped onto the infected leaves I have found effective in flowering. Spraying gets on the flowers, hydrogen peroxide and citric acid. Flowers burn, even in the dark

Well, of course you did… What did you do in your life that has brought on this moldy karma lol

@tjdirtsniffer you can lead a horse to water…. Lol. Well hey I’m glad you know what’s up. I think in this situation I would have questions. How many strains affected ? Only 1 or 2…. Or all of em? I would do everything I could with fans and pruning. Discontinue all strains that are affected. Too many fish in the sea to fuck the mother in law.

Kyle Kushman has recommend potassium bicarbonate for PM controll.
Has any1 here tried it with any success?

@coco-fingers I have many years ago. Unfortunately, minimal results. It’s herpes. There is no cure. Strain selection is critical. Playing 31 flavors game will always lead you to these adventures

Being a mycologist I can say once you have a contaminate like spores you have a big problem. They will pop up at any given time once the conditions are right. Spores can lay dormant for yrs also . To give you an idea of the seriousness. I had a tub of mushies growing and I read somewhere coffee may help them grow. Well once i introduced coffee to my grow which I never had any problems with all the sudden I had tricoderma infesting in. So I though no big deal and threw the grow away and sterilized everything in the tub again . .. not long after it was infected also even tho it and my area was sterlized. I was like how the hell did the spores live ? So i sterlized it again and same thing . I thought there is no way the tub could be infected permentanly..? right? Well it was . I tried to grow in this same tub 5 times sterlizeing each time and more through each time i did it and nothing i did would work.
With a grow once it gets powdery mildew im not sure how to get rid of it for sure .. Spores are resiliant ..
The only way to fight it would be make the conditions unfavorable to the mildew spores . Such as an ionizer and lowering the humidity .. Thats my opinion tho

You’ll be spraying multiple times with some sorta routine..so mister no mister.. as long as you keep up with things even a week after you’ve seen nothing. For me it’s been spray 2 nights 1 day off.
As to just to be cautious in flower every 3rd day. PM tends to come at me & the ladies wk 6.
But NOT this run. 4days till chop chop.
