2 months agoAsk a Grow Question Hello DGC! I just started trimming up my outdoor harvest. I cracked open a nuggets to find mold on the inside. Obviously I don’t plan on smoking this. My question is if mold will separate from the trichome if ice water hash is made with it? Or am I just better off to toss it? Growers love 🤟

Toss it. The mycotoxins stay in the hash.

Still check the other buds on the plant though and if they don’t have mold keep them!!!

Mold is a big problematic issue. So far to my knowledge there really isn’t a way to remediate the mold safely at home. Even if you use alcohol to make rso the mold spores can still make it through. Safest thing to do is inspect every nug before trimming and dispose of the waste, then turn the nugs that make the cut into rso using heat evaporation and ever clear.
