Wanting to start my own grow. Is a 2×2 tent setup too small to start(wanting to start with maybe 2 plants MAX)? Should I go with a bigger tent kit to allow for more plants from the start?

2×4 but then you’re going to decide it’s too small and get a 3×3 or 4×4. I started with a 2×4 and now in a 4×4.

@SurfDad_grows For me the 2×4 spider farmer kit I returned was huge and took most of my bedroom. a 3×3 would have actually fit better.

@ZoomyCat I got a $60 Amazon 2×4. It’s a decent size buuuut it’s still small when I had the two plants in it. It got hot and I just didn’t like the 2×4 for anything that wasn’t small. I mainly left the door open on it.

@SurfDad_grows This was my stance too… I got my lung room sitting at 23C and its 28C+ in my tent. The Intake fan was a jet engine in my bedroom and I just wanted that off… I opened the door and left the exhaust off and it just left me feeling… What is the point of this thing when I had better control over *everything* in a closet.

@zoomycat yeah believe me, there is plant hooks in my ceiling and have been tempted to hang one of my spider farmer 100w from it with plants under it in a corner lol.

@SurfDad_grows I have a 2×4 and I am now wishing I had a 10×10 but do not have to room. It seems we always want bigger and better. 😆 I do love my 2×4 though.

You can definitely start in a 2×2, you’ll just have to grow smaller plants. You can either trellis out one plant and fill the canopy with buds or do a few small plants in 1 gals and achieve the same thing ultimately.

2×2 = 1 plant the entire way, 2×4 = 2 plants, and 4×4 can be 4-10 depending on pot choice. BUT just buy them all, I started with a 4×4 and bought a 2×4 to veg, and a 2×2 for drying and quarantine… so.

The boot holders I use are approximately 1×2 feet. That plants canopy would take up a whole 2×2. That is in a 5 gallon pot which takes up about a foot.
Also keep in mind the spread is 100% due to my training. You could probably run multiple plants in smaller pots just fine though, They won’t ever hit full potential of what they would have hit but it will be a fun grow and you will always have different types of Cannabis.

Thanks for all of the replies so far! Definitely think I’ll start with the 2×4!

Start with a 2×4 then get another 2×4. Then get another one then get another one 😄 🤣 once you have 4 of them you’ll be all set.

@backyard-boogie 2×4 = 6… Won’t be happy until that point. Need 1 seedling tent, 1 veg tent, 1 photo flower tent, 1 auto tent, 1 dry tent, 1 tent for males to breed… That sounds about right. LMAO

Yes a 2×2 is large enough to grow two plants but honestly it gets really tight in there I quickly upgraded to a 2×4 and currently have 4 going

My next question…
Would the AC Infinity 2×2 compact tent be good for a drying tent, or would a taller tent allow for better drying?
