Before I had tents, I attached a trellis to a wooden frame and then attached it to my earth box. Perfect self contained system. It’s a shame it didn’t fit into my tent otherwise I would have kept it on.

Nice! I haven’t looked into the earth boxes. I’m a little uneasy about the bottom watering. I tried one of the buckets and messed up. I followed the instructions, should’ve looked on YouTube I guess. I planted on 7-10 and it’s still wet, res in the bottom has been empty for a week and a half. I finally gave up and pulled her today.

There’s a lot of trashy sub irrigation products out there. Especially a lot of the ones that come with the wicking rope. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t. The earth boxes though haven’t had a single problem. That’s why I double down on them. It was going to be either them or the AC Infinity self-watering bases. The earth box is one by a long shot.
I’m terrible with hand watering because sometimes I’m in the hospital, sometimes I’m sick in bed, sometimes I forget. With the sub irrigation I fill it up once a week and physics and gravity do their thing. I haven’t underwater or overwatered in about 2 years.
