I just repotted my babies last night, im running a layered soil mix with foxfarm ocean forest on the bottom and happy frog for the top half with grow dots throughout with the thought that happy frog has what the plants need now and ocean forest is what the plants will need later

Layered soil in a small pot is pointless. This is not a good idea at all. The roots will reach the sides and bottom of the pot within a few days. The roots will be in all layers in 3 days.

On the topic of defoliation. I do 3 almost complete strips in my setup. One right before flip, one around day 20, and one around day 40. On the left you can see before the strip, second pic is after strip in the middle, and the third pic is 3 days later exactly. You can see that they didn’t mind it one bit. This isn’t really optional for me…

Let your water warm up a bit before you pour in on your plants!

Put your plants on foam board to keep them from sitting on the cold floor

Get your plants off the ground. Put them on plant stands.

Hang your lights a little higher, and turn the intensity up

My grow room is part of the garage and the air conditioners face the big car part of the garage and they keep it warm enough in there for them (the A/C’s) to keep running. It’s about 50° warmer in there than outside temperature. Even when it’s -30⁰ My air conditioners kick on. When it does get that cold I do have to add a little bit of heat… Read more
