I have a question. I found a fungus gnat buzzing around my plants. I got some mosquito bits but I’ve never used them before. Should I just use the directions on the package or some other method?

Just top dress a pinch in and that’s it. You could also put a lil handful in a cup or whatever with some water or nutrient solution then just pour that on top after letting it sit for an hour. It doesn’t get the adults so you need yellow sticky traps for that.

@m1ghtym0u3e thanks for the info. I haven’t had gnats in a long time and have heard that mosquito bits are the best way. I was afraid to over do it.

@terpking yeah you cant really within reason. Your just introducing larva eating bacteria into the soil. I did notice they add a lil white fuzzy mold to my topsoil but idc doesn’t hurt anything. I got plenty of shit growing on the topsoil on purpose.

I personally just sprinkle them in each pot

You will never get rid of fungus gnats if the surface of your soil stays wet. That’s where they lay their eggs to continue their life cycle. Only way to break the cycle is to target the eggs. BT will help but not eliminate.
