• 🥦 Emergency Re-Veg 🥦

After putting all my eggs in one basket on a Pave’ reversal, I learned to always have a backup plan. But in this situation, I was going to be left without the cut and without seed. It’s not rare or anything but I’ve had this certain one for year or two and I’ve grown attached. So, a very late in flower clone was the route I took, I have done it for fun before and taught people that it’s a good way to save genetics. But when it comes down to losing something and you’re just waiting for signs of life to emerge from this finished looking bud……. it’s exciting. My “OG” OG is going to make it until I find another one to fill its seat.

If you have never tried it and you already clone, do it for fun sometime. You will never know when you will have to do it.

        • Yep, my current Lemon Jeffery (5th run) cut isn’t rooting, but now we’re in week 5 of flower. Gonna have to reveg if this cut doesn’t take. The leaves look good but zero roots after 3 weeks.

          • @pacnw-dan its hit or miss with me with them rooting. I took 6 cuttings and 3 rooted, the pic on the left is fully rooted but just not showing new growth. that one had the biggest root system so I up potted it. the pic on the right is bursting with new growth, it was just a bud 3 weeks ago.

I took these cuttings past week 5 of flower you probably have time to try to “reveg” another batch of clones, and they took atleast 3 weeks to show roots on my aeroponic cloner.

            • @pacnw-dan How are you cloning?

              • @guppygirl Cut, scrape, dip in Clonex gel and into a root plug. We’re 9 for 10 here on the others which are already in Solo cups, just this one LJ won’t root this time. I should probably have cut two. It happens; I just wish it was another plant that I’d assigned less “value” to. I’m not too worried, I run 18/6 lighting for the last 10 days anyway, which means I’ll be that much closer to a reveg on harvest day.

                • @pacnw-dan Sounds like you’ll be fine, I guess I just add a step because I don’t want to sacrifice the real-estate to re veg a full size plant…

                  • @tinman88 Yeah, not really looking forward to moving a re-vegging 5gal (!) in there. I was (and apparently still am) going for broke with this girl in a larger-than-my-normal fabric pot but didn’t realize at the time that I’d have my first maybe-failed cloning with her.

May just keep her where she is in the flower tent after harvesting as the lighting will already be 18/6, and I’ll probably give her a good 15mL/gal of Ruby Ful just to help flush through and move her back to the veg nutes. She’s in grow dots, which should be pretty inert by week 10.

                    • @pacnw-dan instead of scraping it, after you cut the node at a 45° angle, try splitting it up the middle about an inch. Rasta Jeff taught me this trick, and 5 of my last 6 LJ #1 clones rooted successfully – the 6th one I rolled and it didn’t cut correctly.
