I’ve not checked on my worms in a while. The worm bin is clearly a source of fungus gnats. I took it out and opened it outside to let them swarm out of my house and have the Canadian cold kill off the adults. I put a nematode package in there. I also dumped all the coffee grinds and the remainder of an old plant in there. All of its trimmings that had been sitting in a coffee container. Most of the Cannabis plant that had been in contact with the coffee was gone, There was a bunch of dry mold bits in there but from what I’ve heard in the worming community that is what the worms eat! The worm bin I expected to be very moist with no worms left but I still have worms alive! They are very large. I pushed the old worm castings mix off to one side and filled the other side up entirely with new food for it. Coffee grinds and Cannabis clippings. I hope the worms like it.
