I said to my Mom today… It still surprises me how good I am with plants when less than a year ago I’d kill them. How much I’ve learned in a short time!

She replied to me: That’s your Autism, The things you don’t find interesting just don’t take and you couldn’t be interested in those things if someone paid you. That’s also your Autism.

She apologized to me today for not getting me checked out when I was younger because she sees how difficult that made my life now.

While she can’t fix that fact that I’m still an undiagnosed Autistic person, I’m glad just being “normal” isn’t the thing pushed on me anymore. My family seems to be trying to understand these days and that feels like we’re moving in a positive direction.
