• Anyone here running under canopy lighting. I know it’s fairly new and the older knowledge was the plants can’t absorb light from underneath. I see a lot more grows trying it. I’m curious if anyone has tried it themselves or a buddy’s grow by chance. I plan to utilize my clone lights as under canopy’s just to see. My only thoughts are if my canopy gets to tall it will be useless would definitely need to be a 10-14 day veg time for this to work.

      • Its side lighting, not floor lighting. Its not new science, its been done with florescent tubes in the past, cabinets. With LEDs its tricky, canopy moves, they are kind of focused, Now with a multi bar style grow light it covers more, a bit more light bounce, angles. Artificial light is flat in energy, no depth per say, unlike the sun. PAR drops right out. Probably the most effective is flat white side walls, the american tents suck with milar,

        • I used the light bars from ac infinity my last run, put them underneath. Made fuller lower flowers. It was noticeable but nothing crazy.

          • @SkyHighRoots me too 😁 now they are elsewhere, but the concept of a reflective wall is for that purpose. More old grow research not related to cannabis from the 70s .. Bugbee is doing for NASA 50 or so, ive got a few ‘books’ on artificial light growing from that period, i saw on a grow show a German grow tent with a white interier.

            • @moistcube 4 16 inch bar lights arent going to do a lot, the AC Infinity ones seem to have a ‘focus’. LOL, have 3 sets for low light use, rooting, hardening. I seem to remember vertical mounting in the old grow chambers, the light radiates close by, like sunlight.

I’m an electrician by trade, so I broke down and rewired my Spider Farmer SE3000 into 4 separate light bars and placed 2 of them under the canopy and the other 2 above for supplemental lighting . Results were amazing. Only problem worth mentioning is the stalks nearest the lights underneath started to turn purple. My assumption was heat and maybe I had them cranked to100%. All of the lowers were stacked with ridiculous amounts of trichomes
