New here, stuck in the Bible belt “SC”. I luck up and catch YouTube live on occasion. Have watched tons of past shows. Trying to put together a first indoor grow, starting small and learning! I am a past outdoor gorilla grower that would start 3-400, full veg 2-250, and grow out to finish 1-150 depending on male to female outcome each year. Not any for sale, just to keep me and a few friends going thru the dry times in the late 70’s, 80’s, and early 90’s. Away from growing for 30yrs. Had a blast raising kids, close family life, and still getting them through college. I just picked up a 60″x32″x80″ mars hydro tent, a buddy got one same size on the way. Just getting started. What do you guys recommend for a ventilation fan size with a carbon filter?? Thinking along the line of a 4″ or 6″ ac infinity setup?? I’m totally new with the indoor tent setup, can you recommend one of these, or something better?? I welcome any and all comments!!

      • Can’t go wrong with ac infinity. Great quality and customer service. Don’t forget to use the promo code for 10% off.

        • Thanks! Do you happen to know if a 4″ vent fan is big enough or if a 6″ is to big?? This is for a 2.5’x5’x80″. I’m hoping to not over or under power the tent.

          • 4″ would probably be good enough to keep air coming in through the bottom vents. I guess also depends on how much heat your lights, fans, humid/dehumidifiers put off. In my 2×4 I have a 4″ with a speed dial. After getting a better light I was able to turn it all the way down vs all the way up to pull the heat away from the old light. In the 10×10 with the big lights I have a 4″ and a 6″ but still struggle to keep temps in check. It’s in a garage though, so I guess location is a factor too.

            • OK, thanks! Will be growing in a bedroom climate controlled. We plan on running 2 of these sized tents with 4 led lights. I scored a deal on 4 lights new in box unopened. From what I’ve read and a few videos about them, they are probably not the best but should work decent properly spaced in this sized tent. They are the vipar spectra xs1500pro with samsung lm281b+ diodes (not the 301h or 301b). They are the ones with the acrylic panels to seal out humidity, and have the lenses to focus light more evenly across the canopy for a decent par map. But hey, I got them on a $100 offer I made, he was asking $140 (said he had 285 in all 4 with discount codes??) I don’t know. This is what I’ll start out with, or stick with if the results are good.

        • Welcome… These plants are definitely different than growing back in the day.. you’ll have to find a genetic you care for first than grow it out a few times to see how she grows to its potential … that’s how I ended up here a couple years ago , I guess the first thing I learned was not all genetics like the lights on full power …

            • And fans by the way I use an orbital oscillating fan under the canopy they work great..

              • Is that like a oscillating, or is it better? I’m trying to keep everything as efficient as possible, also to keep temps as close to ambient in the house ( usually around 76-77*)

. Considering some solar panels, a few reconditioned forklift battery banks, and a commercial square wave inverter, if the electric usage is above minimal. Going to get everything set up and dry run at 50% and 80% lights for a few days each to track temps and bare humidity. Hopefully set up by next weekend or so.

          • Yes in my opinion they’re better they oscillate side to side and up and down put it on the floor of the tent and they fan the underside of the canopy moving a lot of air. I use a standard oscillating fan on top
