      Getting Chunky

So when do you guys (personally) starting counting days in flower? Just curious is all, I know everyone does different things.

      • Starting Day 1 of the flip to flower from vegetative growth state.

        • I have experemeted with this due to how it relates to a feeding chart and when you might introduce a PK booster.

I have found that starting the Flowering stage count after the flowers begin to form makes sense, so about a week after flipping the lights works best.

I consider that first week to be a transition period.

I am sure many people will disagree but that is just what looks right to me.

          • @Shortlife that’s how I was going because I’ve tried with other plants feeding based on the schedule and they weren’t liking the nutrient levels so I skip the first 1-2 weeks flower schedule during that time and stay on vegg feeding till then. Idk, my plants just didn’t like it and this has actually worked for me. I’ve had to play with this topic myself and just simply found it helps. Idk, I may play with lower flower feed during that time just to not lose on flowering time feeds.

            • @SurferDad_grows_aka_CannaDad I use Canna Aqua Nutrients, and if you look at their feeding chart they show a transition period with lights set to 12/12 and Veg Nutrients for two to three weeks.
I have tried one and two week transitions on Veg Nutrients and going straight to Flowering Nutrients as soon as I flip.
The one week Veg Nutrient transition has been the clear winner for me.
It is a bit strange that this kind of grey area isn’t discussed more, it is something that isn’t really talked about much and it would be interesting to hear other perspectives.

              • @Shortlife exactly. Maybe now they might make an episode about that. This shows I’m not the only one thinking about this and dealing with that transition. Nice bro.

            • @tjrez I kinda did each plant a little differently. The plants I vegged 10 weeks was a different story and are and were super hungry so I think that’s where a lot of my deficiencies came from but this one only vegged 6 and I’ve noticed the stretch is minimal.
I guess that’s a question for the crew. How do you keep on the schedule for feed if you superseded it with a longer vegg cycle when flipping to flower because the feed chart doesn’t correctly corespond to the plants age because of the longer vegg.
