I realize some leaf stems are purple. The temp dropped about 13 degrees one night, and the next day, they were purple where they were exposed to light. I hear the science isn’t clear, but I have a theory @jmystro
Purple absorbs more heat then green. So it stands to reason that, plants release that chemical in the areas exposed to light in order to absorb more heat efficiently from the direction of the heat source. Human skin in comparison becomes flushed with blood when exposed to cold air which causes redness. But we can regulate our own heat so the source comes from within, which is why light direction doesnt determine where our skin becomes flush.
