Don’t know if any of you even care. I think I am the only person that misses my own hacks on the show lol. I kind of lived for that. But in case anyone does give a shit that’s trying to keep stuff warm without spending tons of money on heat… I have two of these big totes that are black that were given to me by somebody moving. They are both filled with water. They are about 55 gallons each. They create an enormous large brick of heat. I have them in my greenhouse. And I have them shut because I do not want the water. Evaporating and becoming more of a humidity issue. This can be done with Glass also milk jugs, whatever. You could literally feel the milk jugs with water and suspend them from your ceiling of a greenhouse and they would add little minor temperature adjustments.

      • I ❤️ hacks, I think I’m understanding this,, the daylight coming in the green house generates the heat in the black tote, then at night time the box full of warm water radiates the heat back into the grow area… sweet 🤙

        • @backyard-boogie Exactly! I was sitting on it the other day, and it felt like a magical, big fat, warm brick in the Mediterranean. If it was a longer tote, I would’ve laid on it for my muscles in my back to enjoy. Needs to be said, I’m never thinking anyone should spend money on these kind of things. This is the shit people are throwing away all the time. I’m always picking up what others are putting down

          • @navin-johnson Well, you know how they say it takes a penny to make a dollar. So I am constantly trying to figure out every penny. I can find lol. Tell big mama I said hello.

          • …and this is why I follow you!! I freeze gallon whatever jugs and use them to chill my drying tent. I will now use a large tote of H2O next to my oil filled radiator and add a small fan, to help moderate the grow room night temps in the coming months of bullshit we have here in Minnesota. 🤘🏼

            • @Casadelwhacko OK and this is why I read your notes… That is an excellent idea for dealing with these heaters drying out. Everything in the winter! OK well now I am going to put some shallow water trays in front of my heater!

            • I use 55 gallon food safe metal barrels to accomplish the same thing. I have the greenhouse set up to capture all of the sun during the winter months, with the barrels being lined up on the back wall to catch the heat. I am also putting a wood stove on that back wall to keep temps up in deep winter. I am growing citrus in that greenhouse as well, so temps need to remain above freezing.

              • @BPGrowerNM Oh my God that is exactly what I want to do! In one of my storage buildings on a rental property there is a tiny little red stove that I have my eye on. I should pull the trigger? No heat damage or anything on your plastics or anything weird like that?
