• Hey guys, I’m running a single DWC for the first time. She’s been great, then right as I’m about to flip. This happened. What deficiency am I seeing? I’ve looked online elsewhere. None of them seem reliable.

Looks possibly two to me. Both early on if it is what I think.Possibly a magnesium def indicated by what could be the start of inter-veinal chlorosis with the fading between leaf veins. The lightening of the leaf margins or edges is possibly the start of potassium def. Potassium is immobile so it could be showing low or high on the plant. Magnesium is mobile so it would be showing on lowers and working upward. Not sure that helps but best of luck💪🏼

        • @RASUFA Calcium and Sulfur are the only essential semi-mobile macro elements. They become immobile once they get to where they’re going in the plant. Potash is mobile within the plant but will show deficiency symptoms all over the plant. Magnesium deficiency will show all over the plant, even on new growth. Nitrogen deficiency will pull from the bottom first.

Mobile: N, P, K, Mg, Cl, Mo, Na

Semi-mobile: Ca, Si, S, B, Fe, Cu, Mn, Ni, Zn, Co

        • What pH are you watering at?

          • @RF440 I start at 5.8 then let it roll between that and 7. She seemed to love it. She’s kept herself in that range the last week. I might just need to revamp the nutrients. Using General Hydroponics line, except foxfarm tiger bloom as my flower nutrient.

            • @RF440 I do have cal mag but i have hard water so I am reluctant to use much.

              • @RF440 When the media’s pH goes too acidic, alkaline metals like calcium are not very available.

              • It can be a deficiency like RF440 is saying and more likely because of the slight yellowing and tip curling but possibly also rust fungus. Check to see if when you can rub the brown spot it leaves any brown pigment on your finger. If it does it’s rust fungus if not a deficiency likely to be magnesium or calcium. If it’s rust fungus remove those leaves and get rid of them far from your grow and treat with a fungicide. When in dwc keep an eye on the pH as it can fluctuate between change out locking out nutrients outside the ph range.

                • This plant is just lacking some calcium and magnesium. It’s usually one or the other. The little brown spots are the calcium indicator. The interveinal chlorosis starting will go away with a little magnesium. This one could actually use a little cal-mag.
