When you guys/girls make RSO do you decarb then soak or does decarboxylation happen while purging, thanks! (Looking to solely use this for edible purposes)

That’s how I make all my chocolates.

@GuppyGirl i used to make my edibles with tree but that process is pain tbh, i made some gummys with some bho recently and that process is 100000x easier. I decarbed the bho and just mixed it in with a hot plate stir. Since i don’t want my house burnt to the foundation and my face plastered on the news if i fuck up ever so slightly im gonna make rso with trim instead of bho, but idk when that decarb process should/does happen. Before, while purging, or decarb the end product before putting in syringe?

@2phrogs I wonder about that myself. I can’t do what I would normally do, which is put it in my LEVO 2 to decarb it.

It depends on what process you will be doing to extract your solvent back out. If you have equipment to do so like a rotovap, because of the low temperatures under vacuum pressure no decarboxylation will happen. While on the other hand if you went the more open system to get your solvent out like using a rice cooker you will get to a high enough temperature to decarboxylate at the same time. So decarb first if you’re using a rotovap or machine like it when the step comes to extract your solvent back out. While you don’t have to decarb if you are going to use a rice cooker. Anything else than a rice cooker for temp above 200 degrees no decarb is needed.

@farmville exact answer i was needing. Not sure if i want to use my hot plate or use it as an excuse to buy a vacuum chamber and heating pad. I like the idea of vacuum chamber though pulling all of the solvent out.
