• If both these seeds germinate and I transplant both seeds into nursery cups as their final grow pot.

Do you think I should put it under the lights for the Aerogarden Sprout for a few days so it has some weaker PPFD lights to grow and then put it in the closet with the big plant or just put it in the closet with the big plant since the strawberries seem to do well at ground level?

I do have side lighting and I think that is why the strawberries and other plants are happy down there. They are happy but not fruiting, just flowering. I’m wondering if I need more light on the strawberries now but I doubt it.

The Aerogarden Lights work on a 15/9 schedule and I can’t change that but I can move those lights into a warmer space for the seedling until it gets a bit stronger then move it into the 19C that my other plant runs under. I might have to increase the temps with having more plants in the area as they will transpire more. I can dome the plants under both the light setups if needed.

      • A little above my skill level but I’d say keep it simple. LOL😂

        • @sasquatch714 I just know that the Aerogarden Sprout lights produced a nice compact seedling previously.

I know that seedlings like a little higher temperature which I can provide in my bedroom under the Aerogarden sprout lights. I guess if the seedlings have any issues in the closet I can bring them where the temperature is higher and the temps are nicer for them.

      • If your other plants are way taller and doing ok ground level is usually fine for me. The amount that a light loses intensity based on distance is insane. For example in my 32inch tall tent I measure 980ppfd at 12 inches, 550 at 18 inches, and 300 at 24 inches. I do the same with my clones also just stick em in the corner of my main veg.

        • @m1ghtym0u3e Good to know thanks. I’m sure I could always put a wire tie around 2 of the training holes and have the smaller ones lifted up by that bigger pot if they are not getting enough. But I think that might be too much at a young age, Might be better when they are going from seedling to veg.

I was planning on growing some strawberries in one of my tents this spring, the ones I’m looking at have to be pollinated by hand with a paint brush. Should be a good learning opportunity for the kids, they’ll have their own 2×4 to grow fruits and veggies this year.

          • @ohigrow that might explain the lack of fruiting but I don’t think so. I get tiny yellow/white strawberries that just don’t mature. I wasn’t fertilizing properly or anything. I think I’m best transplanting both the plants there into their own containers with new soil so it can have whole refreshed nutrients within the soil.
