Fertilized and did some light defoliation of the Center. I applied bud clips to some of the larger leaves for some of the side bud sites to get light from the side lighting and to prevent those leaves from getting too close to the side lights.

How do you like using bud clips? See more and more people using clips instead of stakes or tie-offs. Is it beneficial?

@sasquatch714 Oh yes its beneficial. I’m not sure how I feel about them though. Its pretty easy to have your plant tear itself apart using them. I notice I have a big crack in one branch and my main stem started tearing itself in half.
The recommendation is you can leave them on for weeks. I go 1-3 Days or things go bad with them. They are really good for turning branches and getting the canopy how you want them. This branch is covering that branch and needs to take a 90 degree angle? Stick a clip on.
Its far easier to organize your Canopy with them than tiedowns. Tiedowns *are* needed once the branches get strong enough. I can’t use a clip on a branch at this stage but I can tie them down. The branch just won’t take the bending at that thickness.

@sasquatch714 saved my big leaves at this phase though.

@sasquatch714 this was the early phase training the branches their own directions. It made my canopy spread out like a bush.

Great advise, thanks a ton! Do you use your trimmings for edibles or salves?

@sasquatch714 Short answer, Nope. Cannot afford it yet. (I had an answer then read it and it sounder super snarky so removed it, I’ll add it at the end so you can have a laugh and not take it seriously.)
*snark response for a laugh* Look at my setup. Do I look like I’ve got the gear to do any of that? LMAO */snark response for a laugh.*
