Ohhh, Info from a Seed vendor on how pot size changes Auto harvest size. You know I’m interested in this information and perhaps all of you are as well!

I commented the other day on a post saying stress from the pot size would trigger flowering and I was told that was not true. 🤣I’ve seen too much evidence to know pot size with Autos plays a huge tole on when it starts flowering. If you put two of the same strain seeds in different sized pots you will get two different sized yields. When the tap root hits of autos hits the bottom of the pot it stresses the plant and it goes into flowering. I Googled deep 5 gallon grow bags the other day and they do make them. If I remember right they were 15″ deep, 10″ across. Makes me curious what the difference would be on the yields of the deeper bags or maybe even 5 gallon buckets… I am surely gonna experiment on the pot size next go around.

@mr-green-fingers I’ve heard this a lot as well and that is why I’m growing in tiny pots for these two autos. I want to stunt them and get them to flower fast because I’d rather smoke my own these days due how the store bought stuff hits me(not well).
Those 2 plants are going to stay in their nursery cups as small plants that flower fast. I’ll probably attach them to the back of the bigger plant in the veg area later on. I’ll have 1 quick grow of Pink Lemonade Auto and 1 quick grow of Pink Plum Kush and be able to compare each other at that size grow. I really can’t find the info on what I may get so I’m going to do the testing myself.
How deep are the standard 5 gallon grow bags people use? I have no idea as I made my own grow pots. The current one has holes drilled everywhere to be air pruning sites.
Mine is actually 14.5 inches tall from the ground so I’m sure just take 1/2 inch or so off. Its also not full. I left an inch or two around the top with training holes drilled all around so I can have an attachment for the wire tie downs I use. and it is 11.5 inches from each inside section. So I’m sitting more in line with your “deep root mass” theory on my big plant 😀

Smaller roots, smaller fruits… I run all of my auto’s in 5 gals. Seeds are unpredictable, pop 5 autos from the same pack and most will start flowering at different times. Not to say they are all wildly unstable, I’ve ran some that were almost identical to their sisters… I’ve heard a lot about their tap root hitting bottom, causing them to flower early. That’s why I bought taller 5 gals, I didn’t notice any difference though. Could be wrong but I believe it’s a biological clock counting down, and like people some reach sexual maturity significantly earlier than others. IDK though. 🤣

Large tree plants.
If you want monster sized trees, they need monster sized container.
Bigger Roots
Bigger Fruits

Transplanting can shock
With auto’s, plant that solo cup in a container large you are going to flower in.
Less chance of messes her up.
