So I watered my seedlings today and the growing medium wanted to be hydrophobic on the Pink Plum Kush. I decided to do a combination top/bottom watering to get saturation and then tip the plant at a 45 degree angle and sort of do a bob up and down in this sink and this uses physics to drain a bit extra that wouldn’t normally drain from the planter.
I had not noticed anything abnormal with either of the seedlings after watering… A lot of people would see this and think – Did I do something wrong? Well the plant was just pretty dry because I even let seedlings dry back a little bit. I did a full saturation so I could put that little pouch down and inoculate my soil with beneficial nematodes. The nematodes need a moist environment for them to thrive in, This could be thought of as the point just before over watering because you give enough for the nematodes but not enough to overwater the plant.
I noticed the first Pink Lemonade Auto I grew would do this but not to this extreme. You can see the Pink Lemonade Auto is doing it as well but just a little bit.
Cannabis is really Dramatic about night time and I’ve seen posts about this. I don’t know what the scientific name is called but plants sleep and when they do they release all the moisture in their leaves back into the medium and droop like mad. Then when the light turns back on they wake up and their leaves get all perky again. I wanted to make this post so people know this is normal behavior for a Cannabis plant and if they see their plant preparing for bed time there is nothing to worry about.
Sleep well my friends.
